Do you love animals? Do you have experience caring for many different kinds of pets? If so, you might be a good fit for our pet care team! Throw Me A Bone is always on the lookout for top-notch candidates to become pet sitters.
We have needs in the following areas:
- Alamo Heights
- Stone Oak
- UTSA / Medical Center
- Churchhill Estates / Castle Hills
If you would like to become a pet sitter, please keep in mind that we are a professional company with very strict standards for our sitters. Before you can become a sitter, you must be bonded and insured. To be bonded, you will have to pass a criminal background check.
Pet sitting can be a very rewarding occupation but there’s more to it than just hooking up a leash, walking dogs and playing fetch. Our sitters have real responsibilities and are expected to maintain a professional demeanor at all times – with both the customers and their pets.
Sitter Requirements
As a sitter, one will need to have your own cell phone, a reliable vehicle, and a strong work ethic. If you become a sitter, you will be responsible for your own expenses – that means you will have to pay for travel to and from clients out of your own pocket. To keep this expense as manageable as possible, TMAB does its best to keep your jobs within a 10-mile radius of your home. If you must go further, we are willing to pay to make up for fuel expenses.
It is imperative that we have sitters who are punctual. Our sitters are responsible for meeting with customers and their pets on initial consultations. They are trusted with homeowners’ keys and must take care of several pets in a single day. Sometimes, a sitter can make 7 – 9 visits in a single day, maybe more depending on the volume of business.
Pet Sitter Pay
Pet sitters are paid as contractors. The amount of money they make depends on how much work they are willing to do and how many visits they can keep track of. Weekends and holidays are the busiest times for Throw Me A Bone, so sitters should plan on working at these times unless they give ample notice. Holidays DO pay a bonus for each job performed, so Throw Me A Bone does its best to make it worth the time spent caring for customers’ pets.
